Emilio Pucci and his joyful signature patterns
From vibrant colours and fun patterns, Emilio Pucci designs have captured my attention from the moment my eyes set on them.
But who is Emilio Pucci anyway? He was a brilliant Italian designer. Funny story is he only ’stumbled’ into fashion design. He has a doctorate in political science and was a member of the Italian Olympic Ski Team. It was skiing that led him to designing clothes — ski clothes, that is.
His work was photographed by chance that turned into an opportunity in which the Pucci family enjoys until now. The Louis Vuitton-Moet-Hennessy Group created an alliance with the family by year 2000, to reach the brand’s potential. Matthew Williamson is currently its Artistic Director and Laudomia Pucci is the Image Director.
I immediately was drawn to his designs. I fell in love with the cuts, colours, and patterns. As an example of his design, the one on the photo exhibits the fun-side that I’m talking about plus it exudes understated glam.
Naming his current prints: Lune, Mombasa, Ottagoni, Quadrifoglio and Wing. Check out his collections found in his official website.
